Individual Therapy Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer individual therapy in-person or online?
Individual therapy is offered in-person in Lexington, KY, by appointment only. Many clients find in-person work supports deeper focus, emotional presence, and momentum over time.

What issues do you work with in individual therapy?
Individual therapy may help with anxiety, burnout, emotional disconnection, self-criticism, relationship patterns, life transitions, and longstanding relational wounds. The work is depth-oriented and focused on lasting change, not just symptom reduction.

Is this therapy more structured or more exploratory?
Both. Sessions are guided and intentional, while still allowing space for depth, reflection, and emotional processing. The pace is collaborative and tailored to your goals.

I’ve tried therapy before—how is this different?
Relational psychotherapy focuses not only on insight, but on the emotional and relational patterns that keep repeating. Many clients find this approach goes beyond surface-level coping and supports deeper internal change and stronger self-trust.

How long will I be in therapy?
Therapy length depends on your goals and what you’re working through. Some clients come for shorter-term support around a specific issue, while others choose longer-term therapy to work at depth and create more enduring change.

Do you take insurance for individual therapy?
At this time, services are private pay while awaiting credentialing for Anthem and Cigna. If you have out-of-network benefits, you may be able to submit for reimbursement depending on your plan.

What is your availability?
Sessions are by appointment only Tuesday-Friday. When you reach out, include your availability and you’ll be contacted within 48 business hours to coordinate next steps.
