Individual Therapy Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer individual therapy in-person or online?
Individual therapy is offered in-person in Lexington, KY, by appointment only. In-person work is the primary format, as it supports deeper emotional presence, clarity, and sustained therapeutic momentum. Telehealth may be available when clinically appropriate.
What issues do you work with in individual therapy?
Anxiety, burnout, emotional disconnection, self-criticism, life transitions, and relational or attachment-related patterns. The work is depth-oriented and focused on understanding what drives recurring emotional and relational cycles.
Is therapy structured or exploratory?
Both. Sessions are intentional and guided, while also allowing space for depth, reflection, and emotional processing. The pace is collaborative and responsive to your needs and goals.
I’ve tried therapy before—how is this different?
This work goes beyond coping strategies. The focus is on patterns—how you relate to yourself and others, and what keeps those patterns repeating. Many clients experience this as deeper, more relational, and more lasting than previous therapy experiences.
How long will I be in therapy?
It varies. Some clients come for short-term focused support, while others engage in longer-term work to address deeper patterns and support sustained change.
Do you take insurance for individual therapy?
Yes. Bluegrass Relational Psychotherapy is in-network with Anthem commercial insurance plans. Coverage and out-of-pocket costs depend on your specific plan.
For other insurance providers, superbills are available for possible out-of-network reimbursement depending on benefits.
What is your availability?
Sessions are by appointment only Tuesday through Friday. When you reach out, include a few general times that work for you and you’ll be contacted within 48 business hours about next steps.
